About:

Born in 1941 near Manchester, England, David Warner trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). His first role, in 1962, was as a minor character in Tony Richardson’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, however by the end of the same year he was playing Henry IV for the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1965 he became the most talked about Hamlet of his generation, splitting critics and audiences alike in a portrayal of the young prince that set the bench mark for many years to come.

Richardson started the young Warner off on a film career that was to become legion, with a role in his 1964 film of Fielding’s Tom Jones. Since then Warner has appeared in an exhaustive list of films including, The Omen, The Thirty-Nine Steps, Time Bandits, Titanic and Star-Trek. His television work has been equally prolific, from his highly popular and lauded title role in the 1966 series Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment to the present day.

He has become a firm favourite with the science fiction fraternity but has continued to play a wide variety of roles returning to the theatre only recently in 2005 for the one-night play Night Sky alongside Christopher Eccleston, Bruno Langley, Navin Chowdhry, Saffron Burrows and David Baddiel.
