iPod MP3 CD

At Silksoundbooks we want you to have the widest choice when it comes to playing our audio books, so we make all our audiobook downloads available in two formats :

Audiobook format – This is the favourite for iPod owners.

The iPod audiobook format is one large file, with bookmarks for the chapters.
It will “remember” the location of where you pressed pause or stop, making it easy to go back and continue listening to your Silksoundbook even when you've switched off or have listened to something else.

MP3 – These files will play on almost any player.

Silksoundbooks MP3 files are all made as one chapter per MP3, so you get multiple files for one book just like the chapters in a paper book. Although MP3 files do not “remember” the pause / stop location, having one file per chapter makes it easy to navigate to the right place, you just have to make a note of which chapter you’re listening to when you press stop.

MP3 files are also perfect for burning your own CDs

Many home and car players will accept MP3 CDs which is great because you can fit a whole book on one blank CD. Making a normal CD is also easily possible – just make sure you have plenty of blanks because audio books from Silksoundbooks are unabridged and can be very long!

If you are not sure which file to download, don't worry. Once you have bought a Silksoundbook you have three weeks to download both formats as many times as you like, so you can see what works best for you.
