Anna is the daughter of actors Raymond Massey and Adrianne Allen and sister of Daniel Massey and has been a respected and prolific stage, TV and screen actress since the mid '50s. She made her stage debut in
The Reluctant Debutante in 1955 and followed this with a string of substantial roles over the ensuing decades. Recently Anna has starred in numerous TV shows in the UK, Including
Agatha Christie’s Poirot,
Midsomer Murders,
Lewis and
Kingdom.In 1986, Anna was awarded the British Academy TV Award for Best Actress for her role in
Hotel Du Lac. In the New Year's Honours List of 2004 she was created a Commander of the Order of the British Empire - CBE - for services to drama.
