I put it in my diary and stuck post - it notes to the fridge... and yet I still managed to miss
Bill Nighy in the mini-movie
Statuesque on Christmas Day. But I've just found it on the internet, so now anyone, anywhere can watch it.
The 8 minute movie is a collaboration between the well known screenplay writer
Neil Gaiman, his girlfriend
Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls and Silksoundbooks' founder reader and travelling ambassador
Bill Nighy.
Bill plays a daily observer of a group of street performers acting as human statues, one of which is played by Amanda. He follows the same daily routine, from ogling at the performers in the street from his picnic chair, binoculars at the ready, keeping a scrapbook and following them nightly to their regular pub, until a few unusual events lead to a romantic ending with a twist.
“It’s a light entertainment, designed to amuse,” says Bill.
A quick internet search will find it, just look for
Statuesque.
