We were all very sad to hear the news at the weekend that Anna Massey had died, aged 73.

Her illustrious acting career spanned more than half a century and included films, theatre and television.
In 2005 Anna was appointed CBE for her services to drama, but the actual business of acting did not really come easily or naturally to her. She always struggled to learn her lines and worked tirelessly at all her roles.

When we produced her Silksoundbooks audio book Fairy Stories by The Brothers Grimm , she came to the studio as one of the best prepared readers we have ever recorded. She marked up her script with different colours for every one of the delightful characters she created, and seemed to effortlessly switch between different voices. Cinderella, Rapunzle and a host of other favourite stories are brought to life by Anna's great talent.

She will be certainly be missed by fans and colleagues alike.
