Another day, another star audio book reader birthday here at Silksoundbooks!

Today is the birthday of the celebrated English actress Juliet Stevenson who was born in Essex in 1956. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and started her stage career in the early 1980's with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Juliet's long and impressive acting career has encompassed television, radio and - of course - cinema. Who could forget her award winning performance in the wonderful Truly, Madly, Deeply with Alan Rickman?

She was awarded the CBE - Commander of the Order of the British Empire - for her services to drama, in the 1999 Queen's Birthday Honours List.
