As we are based in the UK, most of our news seems to come from close to home, but today we've got a story from the USA.
Silksoundbooks Star audio book reader Lynn Redgrave will headline the 13th annual
Broadway Blessing, an interfaith service that will start the new theatre season tonight, September 14. The service will be held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. 1047 Amsterdam Avenue New York, starting at 7pm.
The service will incorporate a taste of Broadway through singing, readings, and dancing taken from well-known shows. In addition to reflections from Lynn, Carol Hall and J. Mark McVey will sing a selection from the musical
Amazing Grace: The True Story. Shakespearean actor Casey Groves and the group Project Dance are both scheduled to perform as is the Broadway Blessing Choir, led by Director of Cathedral Music Bruce Neswick, which will sing show tunes and lead the audience in a sing-a-long at the end of the service.
The service is free and open to the public - arrive early and you may get a seat next to a favorite Broadway star !
