Edward Fox
made his stage debut in 1958 and his film debut as an extra in 1963 in This Sporting Life. He then appeared in
such classics of the British cinema as Oh!
What A Lovely War (1969) Battle Of
Britain (1969) and The Go-Between (1970).
He leapt into the public eye as the
chilling assassin in the film The Day of the Jackal and his position as
one of the world’s leading actors was confirmed by his portrayal of King Edward
VII in the BBC series Edward and Mrs Simpson. He was made an O.B.E. in 2003.
