Margaret Tyzack began her career working
extensively in British theatre, receiving an Olivier Award in 1982 for a revival of Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Wolf and a Tony Award in 1992 for Letice
and Lovage and secured her wider fame in BBC dramas such as The Forsyte
Saga and I, Claudius and films such as A Clockwork Orange, 2001: A Space
Odyssey and Mrs Dalloway. She received her O.B.E. in the 1970 New
Year’s Honours List for services to drama.
